Our film company, Dear Diary Productions, set out to empower the African American community by presenting a film that explores the issues of fatherlessness, and the impact it has on men and women into their adulthood. Through this narrative short, we hope to address the perpetuation of negative, repeating cycles, perplexing relationships, insecurities, and self-esteem, and help to create a wave of incredible change to social structure.

· To engage the audience in dialogue regarding the current statistics of fatherlessness as it relates to the African American Community.
· To reach the masses of African American youth and adults ranging from 7 to 35 years old by reaching out to the Hip Hop community.
· To activate our community, create a voice that represents and promote change.
· Guide the audience to resources that will help them deal with personal issues dealing with absentee fathers.
OBJECTIVE OF FILM
To bring global awareness to the deeply rooted issues of fatherlessness, and to bring truth to what the media has decorated. To shed light on what has unfortunately become the norm, especially in ethnic communities. To start a force and break the cycle of fatherlessness.
SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM
A community centerpiece, FATHER'S DAY tells the story of Cori Lewis, a young woman whose father walks out on her and her mother as a child. Years later, as a Psychology major in college, Cori is challenged by her Psychology professor to write her final paper on her relationship with her father. With this unfathomable task, Cori is forced to confront her mother about the elephant in the room, her absent father.
Ashley Shanté is a young woman of many talents. She is owner of T-shirt accessory line, 7ly Inspired, Writer, Director, Producer, and working Actor. Ashley has a recurring role on new TV Series called, “12 Steps to Recovery”. Also, has had appearances on “As the World Turns”, “The Letterman Show”, a Verizon commercial, and starred in Lisa Mcree's off-Broadway hit, "And My Name Ain't Peaches". Ashley wrote, directed, and produced the over night internet success PSA , “64”, a promo for the upcoming film, “Father’s Day”. The promo stars, Miss Black USA, Osas Ighodaro, Justiin A. Davis (Boardwalk Empire), Lawrence Saint Victor (Guiding Light), and many more. Ashley dedicates all her talents to her fierce passion of improving and inspiring the lives of everyday people.
Squeaky Moore is one woman, with many faces, one actress, with many talents. Native of Chicago , she received her MFA from Roosevelt University Conservatory in Chicago . Squeaky serves as a writer, acting coach, producer and director of many projects including the improv-based comedy show "Guud Timez". Some of her recent acting credits include, "Gang Girl", which can be found in blockbuster or on Netflix, and a day player role in the Web Series, "12 Steps to Recovery", the stage play, "Who is a Virtuous Woman," directed by Wendy Mckenzie, and for her dual role in the off-Broadway play, "Haymarket." She continues to add to her impressive resume , appearing in feature films and on TV. Including a stint on "Law and Order: Criminal Intent", an "ALL Detergent" commercial with Joan Rivers, and promo commercial for "True Blood."
